Rick Kiralfy
Chair of the Board
Rick Kiralfy enjoyed a 32-year career as an engineering officer in the Royal Air Force, working nationally and with NATO on radar, satellite communications, and signals operations. After retiring from the RAF in 2004, he and Maggie moved to Scotland where he took up a management position at the University of Edinburgh in charge of a team providing administrative services to postgraduate students and academics. Leaving in 2014, he joined the Board in 2016 and continues to enjoy the privilege of helping a superb team of dedicated people support older folk.

Ken Greig
Board Member & Treasurer
Originally from Troon, Ken spent his teens in Sussex, passing summers with grandparents in Ayrshire. Gaining a Business Degree at Napier University, Edinburgh, he then spent a few years in financial investment before starting up a construction and letting company with his wife Heather, in the early 90’s. Over 35 years, he has taken on many roles from on-site work through to company administration and financial management. Looking for a way to take part in community activities, Ken joined the board at LLCG in 2023.

Afifa Khanam Board Member
Afifa Khanam lives in Glenrothes and has been a Board Member for Later Life Choices Glenrothes since 2018. She is very passionate about working with all ages and belives everyone should achieve their full potential. She is a teacher in profession and has been a Depute Head Teacher, Principal Teacher, Guidance Teacher and Business Manager. She is also involved with politics (Chair and Women Officer for Glenrothes and Fife CLP), Trade Unionist (Treasurer and Equality Officer for Fife NASUWT), and is a member of working party with Scottish Government for DITPEW. A great believer of providing equality of opportunities for all. Everyone should be treated equally and given the respect they deserve.

Bob McDonald Board Member
Bob McDonald joined the Board of Later Life Choices Glenrothes in February 2025. Prior to that he had been retired for almost 4 years, having previously spent over 30 years working in the Social Care voluntary sector. He qualified as a Social Worker in 1995 and worked for a city-based charity in Aberdeen, supporting a cross section of people within a variety of care settings. In 2011, he joined a national charity at a senior level supporting Adults and Children with additional support needs until his retirement in 2021. His interests include walking, swimming, live music and motorcycles.

Stephanie Gibson
Board Member
Steff Gibson has been a Volunteer Support Worker at LLCG for a little over 1 year, helping in the Sunflower and Iris day sessions on her days off from university. She studies human and animal skeletons, her goal is to move into wildlife conservation in the future. She is very passionate and enthusiastic about supporting the aged 65+ community to maintain their wellbeing and independence. She applied to join the Board of Directors for the same reason, feeling this was another opportunity to do what she can to support the community and LLCG in future endeavours.
