Day Service Volunteer 

Purpose:

Do you have few hours a week to spare? That’s all it takes to help older people and their carers in Glenrothes and the surrounding areas. By becoming a day service volunteer you will help us to enhance older peoples' quality and enjoyment of life.

Our mission is to promote independence, improve confidence and reduce social isolation by providing a choice of services that reflect the aspirations and requirements of each individual and their carers where possible.

 

Time commitment:

Minimum 3.75 hours per week.

Our volunteers help at client groups Mondays to Thursdays from 10.30am to 2.15pm.

The Role

To support the day-to-day operations of (LLCG) Day Care sessions. The key elements of this role are:

  • Engaging with clients and providing person-centred support

  • Assisting in the delivery of a programme of activities that offer physical and cognitive stimulation

  • Assisting clients to and from their transport as required

  • Serving lunch and refreshments to clients as required

  • Occasional dish washing or kitchen duties as required

  • Setting up and tidying the day room before and after sessions

  • Ensuring the sessions operate within LLCG’s policies, procedures, and operational guidelines, Fife Health & Social Care Partnership outcomes and other relevant legislation.
